They say that when one door closes another one will open. This was the case for me in April of 2021 when I signed up for Tom’s virtual training program. I wasn’t really sure what to expect because I was so used to in person training in a gym once a week.

I looked over Tom’s program, wrote down my questions and got in touch with him.
We had a short conversation about goals and what I wanted to work on. The next day he emailed me my first set of workouts.

Tom’s program is very easy to follow, as he does an amazing job of explaining the workout with notes and cues. The thing that is huge for me, being a very visual learner, are his videos that show proper form and how to do each movement correctly. He also puts the entire package together by focusing on the nutrition side of things which was my weakness. With Tom’s guidance, knowledge and tracking my food we found out where my strengths and weaknesses were. If it weren’t for his attention to detail, it would have taken me much longer to identify deficiencies and how to start fixing them. Tom worked with me to come up with ideas to create a plan that incorporates food that I actually enjoy eating and is not too restrictive. Now it is like second nature and I’m eating foods and portions that are more in line with my goals!

The weekly check-in emails help me stay focused on my goals and help me go into each week with a plan. The check-ins really give me the support I need and I know that Tom has my back.

Tom has the biggest heart and is so passionate about what he does. He truly goes above and beyond to help create a challenging, fun and all around amazing training program.

His motto is look, move, and feel great and, in my case, this is so true! In working with Tom I’ve noticed improvements in my exercise form and how I approach nutrition and I’m starting to see how this carries over into other aspects of my life too. I’m starting to really see what I’m capable of with some consistency, hard work and focus, and with that my self confidence has definitely improved. My relationships, both with myself and others, have improved because I’m learning to create healthy boundaries.

Since teaming up with Tom almost a year ago, I have been able to accomplish many goals, including losing weight, dropping inches, getting stronger and learning more about myself. If you are motivated and willing to put in the work, chances are good that you will crush your goals with Tom just like I have!

I have had the pleasure of working with Tom Holt for over two years. I came to him with a debilitating back injury caused by 15 years of competitive golf (amateur level) and rec league basketball. I was always an undersized athlete and felt that I was paying the price for years of practicing and playing with reckless abandon. My quality of life had suffered greatly, as I had days where I struggled to sit, walk, and even sleep. I had tried numerous coaches before Tom, but only found minimal results that did not sustain in the long term.

Tom recognized my discomfort and came up with a game plan after doing an extensive evaluation. He focused on range of motion, flexibility, and strength at the outset to quicky improve my daily life. He was extremely adaptable, with the ability to change exercises mid-session if even the slightest discomfort was detectable. He was even able to rapidly modify my program, after I needed sudden gall bladder surgery. Amazingly, my progress did not suffer, as his alterations only aided my recovery from surgery, while simultaneously strengthening my muscles.

We always focused on a range of core exercises that allowed me to feel stronger from the ground up, resulting in much more freedom of motion. As I became more comfortable with my exercises, he gradually increased the strength component, making me more durable for activities involving lifting and moving, which were essential in my everyday life, being a husband and father to three kids. My confidence grew substantially, and I decided to give rec league basketball one more attempt. To my pleasant surprise, basketball came to me much more easily than in prior years. I realized that all of the core and strengthening work was allowing me to recover from games very quickly. Tom recognized this improvement and adapted the training once more, making it more functional towards basketball. This again underscores his excellence as a coach. Although he is not a specialist in basketball, Tom was quickly able to create a series of exercises focused on improving my quickness, lateral motion, vertical leap, and hand-eye coordination. Results came quickly, as I have been playing rec league basketball again for the past year and a half.

Besides being an exceptional coach, Tom is a wonderful person. He always has a compassionate ear, and is very understanding to the challenges of everyday life. He realizes that daily struggles often impact ones desire to train, and ensures that each session is not only challenging, but fun and motivating. He truly gives me a break from the everyday grind, and allows me to feel recharged and ready to attack the work week. I can’t thank Tom Holt enough. He has given me the keys to my personal well-being, and helped me enjoy my life to the fullest.
